The portal between the moon and sun.

Every human is capable of terrible and wonderful things. It is not our inherent goodness or badness which dictate behaviour, but circumstance, resource, support, past and present. When we can acknowledge and accept our nature it frees up the opportunity to choose: coherence over chaos, compassion over judgment, kindness over derision, dignity over humiliation.

The light of the moon is the light of the sun reflected. In the darkest places of our psyches, the light of consciousness may sometimes be non-existent like a new moon, the sliver of light of a crescent moon, the brightness of the full moon. And sometimes it is the full illumination of the mid-day sun.

Sculpture: Moon Bowl

Ashely Dodd

The bowl represents the containment and capacity to be with the dark, to accept all facets of life. This fosters capacity for light, for joy, for childlike awe and vitality.

Poem

Helen Beynon

A walk through moon phases and the versions of ourselves we see mirrored at each turn.
