The portal between death and temperance.

We have done the foundational work. Things must now break apart before the pieces can be remade into something new.

Portal Painting 3: Weaving Something New

Ciarra Saylor

This Portal is an offering of energetic and therapeutic space for processing change. It invites participants to embrace endings as essential precursors to growth. Aligned with the numerology of the number 3—symbolizing creativity, expansion, and dynamic expression—this piece encourages viewers to dismantle rigid structures and make decisions that resonate with their personal evolution. By navigating the liminal tension between release and harmony, participants reconnect with the larger coherence of life—a flowing tapestry where all parts, even those that feel broken, contribute to wholeness.

The work resonates deeply in contemporary contexts of personal and collective transformation, emphasizing that true health emerges from moderation and the balanced integration of darkness and light. It highlights the synergy of grounding roots, symbolized by the "bark" of our foundational stability, and the illuminating "light" of insight, which together foster resilience and flow. Sit with this piece to break apart the old and weave something new into your life, embracing the creative potential of the number 3 to inspire growth and renewal.

Poem

Helen Beynon

A pantoum that takes parts of the whole, iterates, and reorganizes them into something new.

Interactive Piece: Death Box

Erica Otto

Death archetypally is about letting go. It is the release of things falling apart so that something new can emerge and organize. Rarely is this process chosen: it occurs outside of our will, when it is least expected.

Place an item from your pocket into the box: a button, a receipt, a coin, an elastic, any small item you have been carrying with you. Intentionally leave it behind, releasing it to this portal.

Notice what happens when you leave a piece of yourself behind, even something that might seem inconsequential.

Music

Micheal Hewitt

An ambient soundscape evocative of spaces ‘in between’. Resonant and dissonant elements are present but not yet fully organized into completion. A state in between chaos and coherence.
